If you've never tried hogget before, this is where to start.

Hogget is sheep that's older than lamb but younger than mutton — ours are Ryeland sheep, kept until they're between one and two years old on our family farm in Holmesfield, Derbyshire. Two full summers on Derbyshire grass. The result is richer, deeper flavour than lamb, without being as strong as mutton. Right in the middle.

Ryelands are often called the Dexters of the sheep world — a proper old British breed, slow grown and renowned for exceptional flavour.

This taster box gives you a small selection of quick-cook cuts — perfect for trying hogget for the first time without filling your freezer.

Simple, easy-to-cook cuts. All vacuum packed and labelled under our Unthank Hall Traditional Meats brand.

Pan-fried loin chops — 10 minutes, butter and rosemary
